Party Leaders To Attend Second Round Of Consultations For New Government

The leaders of parliamentary parties will participate in the second round of negotiations for forming a new government in the upcoming days.

After the first round of consultations at Cotroceni Palace, the situation is as follows: the members of the coalition, PSD, UNPR and ALDE, have different versions, while the liberals barely support their arguments for organizing early elections.

Of the three options launched last week– technocratic government, national union government and early elections – the first option is supported by all parliamentary parties and only criticized by ALDE co-president, Calin Popescu Tariceanu. (Romania Libera)

Banks Ready To Relaunch Lending

After years of attempts to get rid of non-performing loans, the banks seem to be ready to relaunch lending, but the harsh selection criteria are reducing the number of eligible clients.

The significant drop in the number of debtors to the banks as well as the low volume of unpaid debts show that the Romanian banking system is ready to resume the lending process at a faster pace, according to economic analyst Aurelian Dochia.

“It is a natural consequence of the process of cleaning non-performing loans which started two years ago,” Dochia stated.

The loan-to-deposit ratio exceeded 70%, which means the banks have enough resources to grant loans, but the lending conditions became harder and harder, especially for the SMEs which need financing the most. (Evenimentul Zilei)

“We are entering the second stage of medical care and we have to offer all our medical, psychological and social support to patients and their relatives. (… ) Romanian authorities will support all the costs for transport and treatment of the patients transferred in clinics abroad, irrespective of the patient’s insurance status. We are also considering financial support for the persons accompanying the patients transferred abroad," Banicioiu stated. (Romania Libera)
