Insurers Transfer A Quarter Of Their Risk To Reinsurance Companies

The top ten insurers on the market ceded 730 million lei (EUR161 million) in premiums to reinsurers in January-June, up 30% on the year-ago period, according to the data published by the insurers’ trade association UNSAR. Reinsurance ceded accounts for 23% of the gross written premiums of the ten companies in the first half.
