Romanians Took EUR2B Mortgage Loans Since Crisis Debut

Mortgage lending recorded another month of growth in August, with the overall volume of loans climbing at the equivalent of EUR7.3 billion, helped by funding available through the state-guaranteed ‘First Home’ scheme. The August increase is equal to EUR90 million, according to data from the National Bank of Romania (BNR).
