Bucharest Stocks Close Slightly Up; Traded Values Stay Low

The Bucharest stock exchange closed slightly up Monday, fueled by evolutions of Romgaz (SNG.RO) and Banca Transilvania (TLV.RO), but the traded values were reduced.

The bourse’s BET index closed up 0.23% to 6,955.91 points, while BETPlus was up 0.17%, at 1,030.19 points.

Among the blue-chips, Romgaz gained 0.9%, while Banca Transilvania shares rose 0.4% after the bank announced a 18% higher profit for the first half.

On the other hand, Transgaz (TGN.RO) and BRD (BRD.RO) went both down 0.3%.

Investment fund tracker BET-FI closed up 0.16%, with Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO) ending 0.1% higher.

Bucharest benchmark index BET-BK was up 0.2%, while BET-XT increased by a similar amount.

Energy stocks tracker BET-NG rose 0.21%.

The bourse’s total traded value reached 20.6 million lei (EUR4.6 million). Proprietatea accounted for almost half of the sum, as trades with the fund’s shares totaled RON9.1 million, while Romgaz stock deals amounted to RON4.3 million. (EUR1=RON4.4336)
