Bucharest Stocks End Slightly Up, Transgaz Soars

The Bucharest stock market ended in positive territory Friday, with Transgaz (TGN.RO) staying on an upward trend, adding a 4.2% gain to its recent rally.

Bucharest bourse's BET index closed up 0.15% from Thursday closing level, while composite index BET-C rose 0.4%.

Among the blue-chips, OMV Petrom (SNP.RO) inched 0.4% higher, while Transelectrica (TEL.RO) rose 1.7%. On the other hand, Banca Transilvania (TLV.RO) fell 1.3% and BRD (BRD.RO) was down a mere 0.1%.\

BET-FI, which tracks Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO) and the five regional investment funds (SIFs), was up 0.83%. Proprietatea closed flat on the day, but SIF Banat-Crisana (SIF1.

RO) rose 3.2%, while SIF Transilvania (SIF3.RO) added 1.9%.

Bucharest benchmark index BET-BK rose 0.4%, while BET-XT increased 0.34%.

Fueled by gains of Transgaz and Transelectrica, energy stocks tracker BET-NG closed 1.88% higher.

The traded values were once again fueled by special deals with the shares of Fondul Proprietatea, Banca Transilvania and Transgaz, which accounted for more than 40% of the total 30.1 million lei (EUR6.9 million).

On the main market, Transgaz was the top traded issuer, after trades worth RON7.6 million, followed by Fondul Proprietatea, with RON2.8 million. (EUR1=RON4.3366)
