Bucharest Stocks Flat In Early Session, In Dull Trade

10.01.2013 By Bogdan Neagu

The Bucharest stocks were little moved in early trade Tuesday and investors’ interest appeared to fade, as not even Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO), the star of recent sessions, garnered enough attention.

At around 10:30 local time (GMT0730), the Bucharest bourse’s BET index was up a mere 0.01% from Monday closing level, while composite index BET-C was gaining 0.03%.

BET-FI, which tracks Fondul Proprietatea and the five regional investment funds (SIFs), was up 0.07%. Proprietatea traded up 0.5%, but SIF Moldova (SIF2.RO) and SIF Banat-Crisana (SIF1.RO) were both losing 0.2%.

Bucharest benchmark index BET-Bk was down 0.05, while energy stocks tracker BET-NG was losing 0.23%.

The traded values were extremely reduced, barely reaching 0.3 million lei (EUR0.07 million) after 30 minutes of the session.

Proprietatea amassed about a third of the amount. (EUR1=RON4.4604)
