Bucharest Stocks Open Higher, In Dull Trading

The Bucharest stock exchange was slightly up in early session Thursday, but investors's interest for trading in Bucharest is reduced.

At around 10:35 local time (GMT0735), the Bucharest bourse's BET index was up 0.19% from Wednesday's closing level, while general index BET-C was gaining 0.13%.

BET-FI, which tracks Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO) and the five regional investment funds (SIFs), was down a mere 0.11%.

Bucharest benchmark index BET-BK was up 0.12%, while extended blue-chip index BET-XT inched 0.06% higher. Energy stocks tracker BET-NG was increasing 0.47%, lifted by Transgaz's (TGN.RO) 1.5% advance.

Fondul Proprietatea was flat on the day at 0.765 lei (EUR0.17) per share, while Banca Carpatica (BCC.RO) traded up 0.4%. OMV Petrom (SNP.RO) was also unchanged from yesterday's closing price of RON0.448.

The trading values were very low, barely reaching RON0.2 million at 10:35. (EUR1=RON4.4511)
