Leu Falls Slightly Vs Euro After Quiet Session

The Romanian leu fell slightly against the euro Monday after a very quiet session as most of European markets are closed due to Easter holidays.

The leu traded at 4.4188 to the euro by closing time, from 4.4123 to the euro at Friday close.

The local currency opened at 4.4149 per euro, and stayed in a very narrow range during the session, on low volumes.

Romania’s central bank set the official exchange rate at 4.4192 per euro, from 4.0244 per euro on Friday.

On the money market, overnight rates were slightly down to 1.8%-2.3% a year.
