Another group of shareholders in Bucharest bourse operator BVB (BVB.RO) Thursday requested the halving of share capital to 38.3 million lei (EUR1=RON4.1021), by slashing stock face value, and distributing the resulting funds as additional dividend, according to a BVB report.

This is the second such request after a similar one filed by a group which, according to sources, includes Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO) manager Franklin Templeton and holds more than 10% in BVB.

People close to the matter told MEIDAFAX Friday that the second group includes Dan Paul, the president of the Brokers Association, as well as other brokerage firms and banks.

The BVB board will analyze the propositions Friday and decide whether they should be included in the agenda for the shareholder meeting on April 29.
