Tourism, a sector with almost 7,000 hotel companies that generate 4 billion lei (almost EUR1 billion) revenue a year, saw the government deciding to cut the value added tax to 9% for accommodation services that include at least breakfast, Ireland’s Ryanair entering the local market in full gear and the ‘turbulence’ at the top of state-owned airline Tarom in the first quarter.
