Altur Slatina 1Q Net Profit Rises 23% On Year

Romanian car parts maker Altur Slatina (ALT.RO) Thursday said its net profit rose 23% on the year to around 628,000 lei (approximately EUR154,000) in the first quarter, on higher sales.

Altur said its sales rose to RON36.8 million, from RON26.2 million in January to March 2010.

The company reported total revenue of RON37.2 million in the first quarter, up 44% on the year, while overall costs rose at a similar pace to RON36.4 million.

The company has a share capital of RON82.4 million split up into 824.3 million shares with a face value of RON0.1.

Romanian businessman Catalin Chelu owns indirectly, through Mecanica Rotes (METY.RO) and Celule Electrice (CLEL.

RO), around 43% of Altur's shares.

On the Bucharest bourse Thursday morning, Altur traded up 3.33% at RON0.049 a share. (EUR1=RON4.0842)
