Authorities in Iasi, northeastern Romania, plan to upgrade the city's airport through a concession agreement, for an estimated EUR79.8 million, without VAT.

Authorities in Iasi, northeastern Romania, plan to upgrade the city's airport through a concession agreement, for an estimated EUR79.8 million, without VAT.

The first part of the contract consists of work on the airport infrastructure - runways, parking ramps, beacons etc. The second component targets the passenger terminal, utilities building, gas pipe, car parking and other equipment.

The tender is due to begin on June 1. The contract will run for 35 years.
