Rombat Posts 10% Higher Net Profit In First Quarter, At RON7.2M

Romanian car batteries maker Rombat Bistrita on Tuesday reported a net profit of 7.2 million lei (EUR1.7 million) in the first quarter of the year, up 10% on the same interval of 2010.

Sales stood at some RON77 million (EUR18 million), up 18.8% on the year, while volumes overshot 550,000 units.

Rombat has an annual production capacity of 2.3 million batteries and it exports some 54% of its output, mainly to France.

The company is headquartered in northern Romanian city Bistrita and it holds nine logistics centers nationwide.

Rombat is 58.16% owned by Rombat Invest Bistrita. (EUR1=RON4.1051)
