Competition Council To Probe Natural Gas Market For Facts

Romania’s competition authorities will launch a fact-finding probe into the local natural gas market, looking at producers, distributors and suppliers, Tuesday said Daniel Chilea, deputy chief of the Competition Council’s industry and energy department.

Romania's competition authorities will launch a fact-finding probe into the local natural gas market, looking at producers, distributors and suppliers, Tuesday said Daniel Chilea, deputy chief of the Competition Council's industry and energy department.

"This year we are planning to launch a probe into the natural gas market, to obtain better knowledge of this segment," Chilea told a news conference.

He added "the market is not yet ready for liberalization," because knowledge is insufficient and consumers "are not aware of their rights."
