GfK Romania: Consumption Picking Up, But Promotion Wars Continue

Consumption in Romania gave the first signs of a rebound this year, as purchases rose by 4.3% in volume in the first quarter, while prices dropped by almost 2%. During previous years, marked by the crisis, increases were based on price hikes, and not sales volumes, a sign Romanians spent more, without buying more, though, according to market research company GfK.
