Romanian logistics and courier firm TCE Holding, part of the RTC group, posted a 10% year-on-year increase in its first quarter sales, to EUR4.9 million, mainly based on postal services.

"For the first time since the beginning of the economic crisis in Romania, TCE Holding posted growth on all business lines," the company's chief executive officer Sorin Sofian said in a news release.

For this year, the company plans to expand its network of post offices and to continue international development. In addition, the company expects sales to rise 15% on the year, from EUR19 million in 2010.

TCE resulted from the merger of TCE Logistica and couriers Curiero.

TCE Holding launched last year the first national network of private post offices.

The network had 80 units at the end of 2010 and it has started expanding services to international delivery of envelopes and packages to 30 countries in Europe and the Community of Independent States.

The company has seven lines of business, namely TCE Courier, TCE Expres, TCE Cargo, TCE Post, TCE Spedition, TCE Warehouse and TCE Servcom.
