Average Net Salary In Romania Down 2.7% In May

The average salary in Romania fell 2.7% in May to 1,806 lei (around 400 euros) from RON1,857 in the previous month, data from the statistics office showed Tuesday.

The gross average salary was down 2.5% on the month to RON2,500, the data showed.

Staff in the oil and industry received the biggest paychecks in April, of RON6,523 on average. At the opposite end, hotel and restaurant employees received the lowest monthly salaries, of RON1,018.
