Eurostat: Romania's March Industrial Orders Rose At 9th Fastest Pace In EU

Romanian industrial new orders rose 14.5% on the year in March, the ninth fastest increase in the European Union, official data showed Tuesday.

In the European Union, industrial new orders rose 11.3% in March from the year-earlier month, EU's statistics office Eurostat said.

New orders rose in 19 member states for which data are available and fell in 3. The highest increases were registered in Estonia (+59.6%), Bulgaria (+37.3%), Lithuania (+37.2%) and Latvia (+34.1%), and the decreases in Greece (-9.3%), the United Kingdom (-8.1%) and Ireland (-6.6%).

In March compared with the previous month, Romanian industrial orders fell 1.9%, the eighth biggest decline in the EU bloc.

In the EU, industrial orders decreased by 1.9%.

Total manufacturing working on orders fell in 13 and rose in 9 member states. The largest decreases were registered in Denmark (-22.3%), Ireland (-13%), Portugal (-8.4%) and Slovakia (-8.1%), and the highest increases in Finland (+5.5%), Italy (+4.5%) and Estonia (+3.9%).
