Foreign Investment In Romania Up To EUR1.16B In First 4 Months

Romanian foreign direct investment, or FDI, rose to 1.16 billion euros in January to April, from EUR785 million in the same period of 2014, data from the central bank showed Monday.

Of the total FDI, equity stakes (including estimated net profit) reached EUR199 million, and net intra-group lending was of EUR965 million.

In 2014, the FDI stood at EUR2.43 billion, down from EUR2.7 billion in the previous year.

Romania's current account balance posted a deficit of EUR27 million in the first four months, from a deficit of EUR326 million in the same period of last year.
