Tourist Arrivals In Romania Up 22.2% On Year In February

Tourist arrivals in Romania rose 22.2% in February from the year-earlier month, while overnight accommodations were up 22.6% on the year, the statistics institute INS said Monday.

Residents accounted for 80.4% of total arrivals at accommodation establishments in February, while foreigners made up for the reminder 19.6%.

The vast majority of foreign visitors (84.1%) came from Europe, the data showed.

Romanian tourist departures abroad fell 15.7% on the year in February.

In the first two months, tourist arrivals in Romania rose 13.2% compared with the year-earlier period, while overnight accommodations were up 13.4%.
