Romanian President Says He Might Call For Referendum On Rosia Montana Gold Mining Project

Romanian President Traian Basescu said Monday that although he supports mining, the government’s adoption of the bill giving the go-ahead to the gold mining project in Rosia Montana, western Romania, was cowardly and he does not rule out calling a referendum on the matter.
