BNR: Romania's Forex Reserves Fall To EUR32.1B In April

Romanian foreign exchange reserves fell to EUR32.07 billion in April from EUR32.77 billion a month earlier, central bank data showed Monday.

Foreign exchange inflows dropped to EUR759 million in April, from EUR1.72 billion in March.

Total outflows grew to EUR1.45 billion from EUR1.02 billion in the previous month, following the central bank's decision to cut the minimum requirement ratio at foreign currency liabilities to 20% from 25%.

The central bank's gold holdings were steady at 103.7 metric tons, but their value adjusted for international gold price rose to EUR3.44 billion, from EUR3.35 billion a month earlier.

Romania's overall international reserves were at EUR33.5 billion in April, from EUR36.1 billion in March.

The payments due on public and publicly guaranteed external debt in May amount to EUR238.9 million, the data showed.
