INS: Adjusted Industrial Output +1.1% On Month In April

Romanian adjusted industrial production inched up 1.1% in April compared with a month earlier, on higher output in most sectors, the country’s statistics institute INS said Monday.

Energy production increased 1.6% on the month in April, while manufacturing output was up 1.2%.

However, mining output declined 2.7% from a month earlier, data adjusted for the number of working days and seasonal factors showed.

In annual terms, the country's adjusted industrial output increased 2.6% in April, again fueled by growing output in most sectors.

Energy output rose 4.6% on the year, while production in the manufacturing industry increased by 2.8%. Mining output was down 7.2% on the year.

In unadjusted data, Romanian industrial production fell 9.9% on the month in April, but was unchanged compared with the same month of 2011.
