INS: Romanian Industrial Sales Up 9.5% On Month In February

Romanian industrial sales rose 9.5% in February from a month earlier, helped by higher demand in the manufacturing industry, the country’s statistics institute INS said Friday.

Manufacturing sales increased 10.1% on the month in February, but mining sales were down 2.9%, the data showed.

By sector, capital good sales rose 14.7% month-on-month, while sales of durable and intermediate goods advanced 11.6% and 10.9%, respectively. Consumer good sales increased 5.8% from a month earlier, but energy sales declined 2.5%.

On an annual basis, industrial sales increased 13.7% in February, fueled by higher demand in all sectors. Manufacturing sales rose 13.9% year-on-year, while mining sales were up 9.1%, the data showed.
