BNR Lends RON406.7M To Local Banks

Romanian central bank Monday lent 406.7 million lei (EUR94 million) to two local banks in a seven-day repurchase agreement operation at an interest rate of 6.25% a year, equal to the monetary policy rate.

The two banks will repay the loans on November 7.

On the money market Monday, overnight rates were at 5.57%-6.07% a year. (EUR1=RON4.3243)
