Leu Slightly Up Vs Euro In Apathetic Market

The Romanian leu traded slightly stronger against the euro Friday morning, in a quiet market wih low transferred volumes, according to banking dealers.

The leu opened at 4.4605 to the euro, from 4.465/4.466 to the euro at Thursday close.

It later traded in a narrow range around the 4.46 mark, as the transferred volumes were reduced.

The central bank set Thursday the leu’s exchange rate at 4.4635 per euro, from 4/4711 the day before.

On the money market Friday morning, overnight rates rose to 2.8%-3.3% a year, from 2.6%-3.1% a year in the previous session.
