Prodplast's Loss Widens To RON0.5M In 1Q

Plastics producer Prodplast (PPL.RO) Friday said its loss widened to nearly half a million lei (EUR120,000) in the first quarter, as expenditure grew faster than revenues.

Prodplast reported a loss of RON494,000, from RON179,000 in January to March last year.

The company said total revenue rose 14% on the year to RON12.36 million in the first quarter, while overall costs increased 16.7% to RON12.86 million.

Turnover stood at RON11.23 million (EUR2.6 million), up nearly 21% on the year.

Prodplast has a share capital of RON17.07 million, divided into 17 million shares with a face value of RON1.

On the Bucharest bourse Wednesday, Prodplast closed up 1.64% at RON1.24 a share. (EUR1=RON4.0997)
