The Bucharest bourse opened Friday on a downward trend, with traditional liquidity driver Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO) back to trading.

The Bucharest bourse opened Friday on a downward trend, with traditional liquidity driver Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO) back to trading.

At around GMT0744, the Bucharest Stock Exchange's composite index BET-C was down 0.68% on the day, while 10-share blue-chip tracker BET was falling 0.67%.

BET-FI, the index tracking the Proprietatea fund and the five regional investment funds, or SIFs, was down 0.56%.

Wider blue-chip index BET-XT, which also includes the SIFs, was falling 0.48%, while energy companies tracker BET-NG was flat on the day.

Trades unfolded on the Bucharest Stock Exchange by GMT0745 amounted to 11.66 million lei (EUR2.86 million), visibly influenced by the return of Fondul Proprietatea after two days of suspension.

Popular stock early Friday, aside from the Proprietatea fund, included SIF Banat-Crisana (SIF1.RO), SIF Transilvania (SIF3.RO), Erste Group Bank (EBS.RO) and BRD-Groupe Societe Generale (BRD.RO).
