Asphalt Kings Took On Contracts Close To Home In 2011

Romania’s so-called asphalt kings won at least half of the EUR2.4 billion road infrastructure contracts awarded by the Transport Ministry and by the Development Ministry last year, according to ZF estimates. Most of the times, however, they did not compete with each other in the big tenders for county or national roads and stayed close to home, relying on the advantage of their home turf.
