Car Parts Heavyweights Begin Consolidation

They started to arrive in Romania in mid 2000s, drawn by Dacia, the cheap skilled labor and the advantage of export to Western markets. They built plants from the ground up and created an industry that was virtually non-existent a few years ago, and their exports turned the automotive sector into the star of the Romanian economy during the recession years. They are now entering a new phase, the phase of acquisitions whereby they consolidate their presence in Romania.
