The European Commission has opened an in-depth investigation to assess whether Romania’s planned state ​aid to support the refurbishment and lifetime extension of ‌Unit 1 of the country's Cernavoda nuclear power plant (NPP) is in line with EU state aid rules, the Commission has announced on Thursday, April 16.
