Nuclearelectrica Shuts Down Unit 1 Of Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant Amid Severe Drought

Nuclearelectrica (stock symbol: SNN), the operator of Romania's Cernavoda nuclear power plant (NPP), has announced that it shut down the plant's Unit 1 in a controlled manner and disconnected it from the national grid on the morning of July 28 due to a severe drought which has pushed the Danube river to unprecedented low levels.
