Romania Might Lower VAT On Bread To 9% Starting July 1

Romania might apply starting July 1 a pilot-project to cut VAT on bread from 24% to 9% if budget revenues increase so as to be able to cover a 200 million lei (EUR45.6 million) deficit the measure will trigger, Prime Minister Victor Ponta said Monday after talks with the International Monetary Fund.
