INS: Romania's 1Q Adjusted Industrial Output +10% On Year

Romanian first quarter adjusted industrial production rose 10% compared with the year-earlier period, on higher output in all sectors, the statistics institute INS said Monday.

Manufacturing output increased by 11.7% on the year in the first quarter, while energy and mining production were up 3.5% and 3% on the year, respectively.

In March alone, adjusted industrial production declined 0.8% on the month, but was up 7.4% compared with March 2010.

The data are adjusted for the number of working days and seasonal factors.

In unadjusted data, Romanian industrial production rose 11.4% on the year in the first quarter. Monthly production was up 14.3% in March, the data showed.

Compared with March 2010, unadjusted output increased by 9.8% in March.
