Romanians Earned By RON9 More On Average In September

Romanian average net salary inched up 0.6% to 1,464 lei (roughly EUR336) in September, from RON1,455 a month earlier, the statistics institute INS said Friday.

Gross average salary increased to RON2,017 in September, from RON2,005 in the previous month.

Staff in the oil and natural gas sector received the highest salary bumps in September (up 27.2% from August), followed by personnel in the ore mining and financial sectors (between 6% and 20% on the month).

At the opposite end, Romanians working in the mining and cinematography and media sectors received by 11.5% and 3% to 7% less compared with Auust, the data showed.

In September compared with the year-earlier month, Romanian average net salary rose 9.3% in nominal terms.
